What is the Skip-a-Pay program?
WFCU’s Skip-A-Pay program allows you to skip up to one payment per loan(s), per rolling calendar year on qualified loans. Those payments are then added to the end of your loan term. Skipping a loan under this program does not impact your credit rating
What loans are eligible for skips?
Auto, Motorcycle, Boat, and RV loans, Signature & Line of Credit Loans, and Share Secured loans are eligible. All loans must not have been more than 29 days past due during the last 12 months, or the life of the loan if opened less than 12 months.
What loans are NOT eligible for skips?
Real Estate, Credit Cards, or Home Equity Loans.
Am I eligible?
To be eligible: a) All loans must not have been more than 29 days past due during the last 12 months, or the life of the loan if opened less than 12 months. b) There must be 12 months between Skip A Pays. c) Loans that currently have forced place insurance or had forced place insurance during the last 12 months are not eligible. d) For secured loans with titled collateral, the collateral must be titled in your name, and GPS must be installed if that was a requirement of the loan approval.
Is there a fee?
There is a $30 fee per skip, per loan.
How does it affect my loan?
Normal interest charges will continue to accrue, and the loan simply ends when all scheduled and deferred payments are paid in full.
What if I have automatic payments?
If you have automatic payments from a WFCU account or if we pull your payment automatically from another financial institution, we will defer your automatic payment for the month selected. Please have your Skip-a-Pay Request Form to the credit union up to 7 days prior to the due date for processing. This gives us time to modify your automatic payment for the loan you have elected to skip.
What if I pay my loan through online Bill Pay?
If you use Bill Pay through WFCU or Bill Pay from any financial institution, you'll need to log into Bill Pay to stop and restart the payment yourself. Don't forget to turn it back on after your skip!
How often can I skip?
There is a limit of one Skip-a-Pay per loan, per rolling calendar year, and you must meet the requirements.
Can I skip any time?
Yes, you can as long as you meet the requirements and you have not already skipped a payment in the past 12 months.
Disclaimer: *This offer is for consumer loans only. It does not apply to real estate, credit cards, or home equity loans. You must allow up to 7 days prior to the due date for processing. There is a limit of one Skip-a-Pay per rolling twelve-month period, and members must meet the requirements. If you elect to take advantage of this offer, we will defer the payment(s) you indicate for one month. Your next regular payment will be due on the scheduled payment due date following the month you have elected to Skip-a-Pay. All signers on the loan must sign this form and return it to WFCU. Wichita Federal Credit Union reserves the right to refuse any Skip-a-Pay request and will advise you if your request is denied. The loan must be in good standing. Other conditions may apply.
You agree to pay the remaining balance due on loan(s) at the same payment amount each month starting at the agreed next payment date, plus interest at the same rate as provided in the original note. All other provisions of the original note, except those changed by this agreement, are to remain in full force and effect. Normal interest charges will continue to accrue, and the loan simply ends when all scheduled and deferred payments are paid in full. I/We understand that to qualify, the loan(s) you request to skip must not have been more than 29 days past due during the last 12 months or the life of the loan if opened less than 12 months. For new loans, at least three consecutive months of payments that are no more than 29 days late are required to skip a payment. Loans that currently have forced-place insurance or had forced-place insurance during the last twelve months are not eligible to skip a payment unless premiums were fully refunded due to documentation verifying adequate insurance coverage. If the loan is secured, our lien must be perfected. If GPS is required, the GPS must be installed.
